Black backgrounds

The American Printing House for the Blind offers Invisiboards which are made of corrugated plastic with black felt on one side which allows you to Velcro objects to it. Craft stores and office supply stores often have black foam board that you can use as an inexpensive alternative to an Invisiboard. You can attach sticky Velcro, or simply tape objects to the board. Another advantage is that they can be cut to any size. For example, we use a large one to put in front of Little Bear while he is seated in his chair, and a smaller one when holding him. Using a black background is a great way to reduce visual clutter.
