Books can be difficult for kids with CVI. Two dimensional materials are always harder and they are often too visually busy. We’ve found some great ones that Little Bear loves, though! Here are some favorites that are visually simple and include highly saturated colors:
So Big! (Honestly, can you ever go wrong with Elmo?)
That’s Not My Dinosaur (This one is also great because it’s got texture!)
And a few suggestions from our Facebook friends:

Hi, I absolutely loved Miffy as a kid, and as an adult, I found “I like it when” in a garage sale and bought (for my daughter), I so loved it too. These types of books have really sub consciously inspired me and driven my style as a writer and illustrator, I would so love if you could check out my books for their CVI rating. They are free here: http://www.freekidsbooks.org – search on my name – but the ones I am talking about are the black pen with fill style images, very bright contrast – just like Miffy, in my own way that is. I’ve also created an early reader series, the images will not appeal (photos) but the text may, as it is also high contrast with open dyslexic font. Love to hear.
