Visit the aquarium

We are always looking for places we can take Lukas that he will enjoy and that will allow him to use his vision.

The zoo isn’t very interesting to him because most of the animals are too far away for him to see.  We have discovered, however, that he LOVES the aquarium.  This makes sense really, since the tanks incorporate a combination of movement, light, and bright colors.

The tropical salt water fish tend to be more interesting to him because they are often so brightly colored and in colors that Lukas loves, like yellow, orange or red.  He also really enjoys the jellyfish tanks.  They tend to be much simpler, visually, and they usually move more slowly.  The shark tanks, while not very brightly colored, can also be visually interesting probably primarily because the sharks are such big moving objects and therefore pretty hard to miss.
